News Archive (First/Ressies)

• 22/3 - 14 Goal thriller at Ford Meadow. McCormick 3, Dart, Newby, Max Grant, OGrady.
• 8/3 First - Good win over the Flourmen! Goals from Bines, Newby and a brace from McCormick sealed a great performance.
  8/3 Ressies - Buckingham Town Reserves ran out 2-1 winners over Thrapston. Seb Klyen opened the scoring connecting on a well taken free kick from Adam Horwood. Town applied pressure in the first half but could not improve their advantage. After the break, Town continued to press, but Thrapston got back on terms with their only strike at goal of the game. Town grabbed all 3 points with a late goal, created from a short corner, allowing Kyle Stimpson to head home.
• 05/03 Ressies - 6-0 Win over StIves. Fantastic performance from the lads to take them off the bottom. First half hat trick from Joel plus second half finishes from Jeff Baffo, James Bishop and Robbo!
• 01/03 Reserves - Five goal win for Town's reserves against Potton Utd. Town were 3 – 0 up in the first 5 minutes as they played superbly entertaining football. Bish opened the scoring in just 2 minutes going round the keeper and slotting home. Enzo Carillo met a cleared corner on the volley giving the keeper no chance for number 2. Jeff Baffo finished a very good team build up to make it 3! Just before half time Bish broke through and was brought down by the Potton central defender in the box for Enzo to step up and slot it in the corner 4 – 0. Second half started with Potton having a bit more of the play but never trouble Carl Knox in goal. Winkworth and Dias were robust in defence letting nothing through. Almost every player touched the ball en route to Bish who crossed for Enzo to finish off the game and make it 5 – 0 and get his hat trick.
• 01/03 First - Go down to top of the league Daventry Town. Consolation goals from Joel McCormick (Pen) and Nick Bines.
• 29/2 Reserves - The game WILL be played at Ford Meadow on Saturday.
• 23/2 First V Rothwell - 3-3 (3-2) Another draw, but this game was a good away point at Rothwell in an entertaining game. Going a goal down inside 5 minutes was not the best start, but a Reuben Max Grant's goal and a fine free kick from Tony Joyce restored the balance. Rothwell scored twice more before half time to go into the break 3-2. A well taken Chris Robson penalty levelled the game. In the last 30 mins, both teams' efforts cancelled each other out. A fair result on the day! A well earned point on our travels. TJ
• 16/2 First - Robson takes lead but Eynsbury steal late point 1-1 (0-0)
• 9&10/2 First, Ressies and Youth all go down this weekend to losses, 2-0, 4-2 and 2-1 respectively.
• 6/2 - First team - 2-1 win over Bugbrooke puts Town (with games in hand) in sight of playoffs). Goals from Joel McCormick and Jamie O'Grady!
• 2/2 - First - Vs Daventry Utd - 4-2 (3-1) loss away from home to the Motormen. Town goals from Ruben and Gianfranco Amoroso.
• 9/1 - First - BTFC 1 - ON Chenecks 1 (0-1) - Town went 1 - 0 down just before half time when Chenecks converted a corner against the run of play. Ruben returned the compliment with a second half header and despite a hat full of chances Town couldn't get the crucial decider.
• 10/11 First - 2-2 Draw at Rushden & Higham. Buckingham started very well and went close in the opening minutes through McCormic and Max Grant & a Joyce free kick crashed off the crossbar.
  An Injury to inform centre back Mark Toms caused Town to make a change and for a twenty minute spell Rushden came into the game and scored two 1st half goals. After the break Buckingham responded to the team talk and played some good attacking football and Joel McCormick and Jon Mills restored the balance with the game ending 2-2.
• 10/11 Reserve Team -Draw 3-3 at home
• 3/11 First - 0-1 Loss to Daventry Utd - Town played some attractive football and scored (Max Grant) in the 1st half only to be disallowed.Daventry got the only goal of the game after a rare defensive slip in a game where Town dominated GK Jack Sillitoe's debut -deputised for the injured Josh McAdoo- saved a first half penalty and deserved a clean sheet.
• 30/10 First Team Beat Winslow 2-1 to go through to meet Banbury in the 1/4 Final thanks to 2 goals from striker Joel McCormick. Tony Joyce rested several 1st team players and gave debuts to Nick Bines and Kyle Welch and gave some squad players a full 90 minutes.
• 27/10 First beat R&H - 1-0 (1-0) Another good team performance! Adam Harwood scored the only goal of the game in the 20th minute.Buckingham played some good football and Ruben came closest to adding to the score. Rushden threatened at set pieces late on, but a strong defence coped very well and gave Josh Macadoo his 1st and a well deserved clean sheet of the season.
• 20/10 First - 1-1 (1-0) After a good start & good work from Ruben and Joel McCormick,Buckingham took the lead on 20mins through a great strike from McCormick. Town caused the Huntingdon defence a few more problems and possibly should have added another before the break.
  The 2nd half was a different story as Huntingdon's strong side had more possession but Town defended extremely well and looked to have secured victory until the 90th minute when the referee awarded a dubious penalty for an apparent dive. Justice seemed to be done as Josh McAdoo who had another good game saved the spot kick.
  Huntingdon where not finished and Burrows scored a powerful header from the resulting corner in stoppage time. Over all probably both teams were worth a point in a game of two halves.
• 13/10 First Team win 1-2 (1-0). "...a tough game against a decent attacking Sileby team. First half hour Sileby had the better of the game and went 1-0 up after approx 20 mins. We came back into the game in last 10 mins of first half with Danny hart, Chris Robson, and Ruben going close from corners. 2nd half was an even half but our quality and fitness took over in the end. Ruben, Ellis, and Chris Robson all to injury but managed to win the game 2-1 with both goals from Ruben." (Thanks to Redder for the match report)

• 29/9 First team win 8-2 (6-0) goals from Ruben 2, Joyce2, McCormick2, Clarke1, Dart122/9 Ressies win at home against Huntingdon 4-1 (1-0) Goals from Brent, Conti, Soetan, Stimpson.
• 22/9 First team win 4-1 away at Huntingdon. Hat-trick from new signing Joel McCormick and one from Ben Clarke.
• 19/9 Ressies kocked out of reserves league cup in a narrow 2-1 defeat to Rushden and Higham
• 15/9 First Team: frustrated again by lack of goal scoring prowess in an otherwise promising performance lost 1-0 to Blackstones in the league cup
• 15/9 Ressies won 3-1 (1-1) at Potton to take their first win of the season in another positive performance. OG 20, Bishop 46 Brent 90+5. Well done Pete and the lads!
• 8/9 Town go out of FA Vase to two goals from Blackfield's Adeyemi Oke. Joyce came close in the first half hitting x-bar but Town couldn't convert in the last third.
• 6/9 Ressies lost out at Rothwell Corinthians in another tight score line conceding deep into injury time 2-1 (1-1) . Mitchell Brent got Town's goal.
• 1/9 Reserves had the best of the game against Wootton taking a 1st half lead (Morris) but conceded in the second half to take their first point in Div 2
• 25/8 Town lost out to Peterboro Northern Star 2-0
• 25/8 Reserves drew level at half time 1-1 (Bishop 44mins) but lost concentration after conceded second pen to go down 5-1 in a result that flattered the visitors Thrapston.
• 18/8 Disappointing losses at home in the FA Cup and at Wellingboro in ressies D2 games, despite good performances.

• 4/8 Foxes beat Robins by 4 goals to 2. Town's goals from Ruben and Ellis Spence.
• 1/8 A solid first half dissapointingly resulting in two late goals by Aylesbury meant 2-0 deficit at half time.Morris's attempt the closest for Town. John Patterson got one back in the second half but Town went down to a 5-1 loss.
• 28/7 Town's first pre-season run out was supported by a number of youth players but they secured a respectable 2-0 scoreline in the loss to Thame
