  • The youth team finished the season with a strong performance. Momentum started in favour of Rothwell and gradually shifted to Town as it looked likely that Akin Iluyemi's solitary 58th minute goal would win the tie. However Rothwell were dangerous on the counter attack and had already had two goals ruled out for offences. With a minute to play in regulation time the Robins succumbed. Corinthian hearts were lifted and they took advantage of the loss of Amoroso and Brent who had bossed the midfield and took two decisive goals. NTI, Stimpson and Ilutemi all came close but a coup de gras with minutes to go sealed the win for Rothwell. Youth Coach Phil Simons praised his team's effort as the best home performance of the season. Rothwell Corinthians now face Western Division rivals Sileby Rangers on Monday 19th May in the Final.

  • 20/4 - Robin Taylor awarded "Groundsman of the Year" from Berks and Bucks FA. - I am sure you would all like to join the players and management in congratulating Robin on a superb effort and well deserved award. Robin would be the first to say it is a team effort so well done to Rocky, Eddie and colleagues too. JW

  • 31/3 - Youth - Secured a great point at Sileby with goals from Bishop and Brent.
  • 24/3 - First and Youth back to winning ways with a league win over Kempston for the youth and a charity cup win (albeit on pens) for the first team against Stony Stratford report.
  • 17/3 - Youth - 1-1 (1-0) Vs Bugbrook - A great first half followed by a frustrating second half resulted in a 1-1 draw rather than a clear win!
  • 12/3 - Youth - Game at cranfield called off at Cranfield's request.
  • 5/3 - Youth - 2-2 Draw at Kempston. A good commanding first 15 minutes for Town was followed by a mixed performance. Mitchell Brent recovered the initial goal deficit in the first half and took the lead in the second, only for Kemston to drive straght through the defence to draw level a minute later. A fair result.
  • 24/2 - Youth - 1-5 loss to Sileby (1-4) With 8 injuries a still competent squad faced an impressive Sileby side who took 4 excellent goals in the first half. All were amazed Sileby did not lose a player when he handled on the line resulting in the penalty confidently converted by James Bishop. Controversy at the start of the second half as a generous award of a penalty to Sileby gave them the 5 - 1 cushion and it was all Buckingham for the second half.
  • 27/1 Youth - Town were not able to perform at their best tonight but came away with a creditable point. Both sides had chances in front of goal, Cranfield with a handful on target from five or six strikes. Town's similar number but most on target and stopped by an in form Luke Purnell in goal for Cranfield. Kyle Stimpson scored 5 mins into the first half, heading in Mich Brent's corner at the near post. Stimmo secured the point coming back from 2-1 down at 68 mins with a strong run into the box a a deft touch past the advancing keeper.
  • 15/1 Youth vs Bedford FC - close game with chances for both teams. 0-0.
  • 17/12 - Youth - 3-0 Win over Cognehoe. A strong all round performance in the first half resulted in several great saves from Jack Bridges and three excellent goals from Bishop (2) and Simons. The second half was a defensive stand of some note by Cogenhoe with impressive play from Town without production. Bishop came close to a hat-trick, Max Risby, Kyle Stimpson created great opportunities. Good win before the Xmas break.
  • 2/12 - Youth - Progress to next round of the Northants Youth League Cup with 5-0 win over Bugbrooke St Michael. Amoroso, Simmonds, Bishop 3.
  • 25/11 - Youth - 2-1 Win over Northampton Spencer. Goals from Mitchell Brent and Kyle Stimpson.
  • 17/11 - Youth - 1-0 Loss Vs Rushden and Higham - despite having the majority of the game shooting and finishing let Town down only to succumb to a late, top draw goal from 25 yards by R&H.
  • 2/11 - Berks and Bucks FA U18 Rep team - James Bishop and Ben Rigby were in action for the B&B FA rep team on saturday. Keeper Carl Knox & Seun Soetan were selected but unavailable to play. BBFA won over Hants FA with goals from Bish.
  • 2/11 - Injury hit Town Youth bow out of Berks and Bucks County Cup. United MK win 3-2.
  • 28/10 - Youth - 3-3 Vs Brackley. In exceptional weather conditions Town seemed to have the better of Brackley and had two clear penalty decision waved away, one presumes due to the snowy conditions. However the Saints took a 1-0 lead into the break thanks to the softest of collisions on the slippery ground giving rise to a Penalty. Town were disproportionately rattled and let the Saints take a second goal early after the restart. The fight back came from a James Bishop goal quickly cancelled out the other end to put Town 3-1 behind. Town eventually found their fight after Town's keeper Carl Knox was taken out with a forearm smash. Jo Vincent made it 3-2 and after Knox had retired after a second late hit, Nick Bines scored from a free kick. Carl has suspected #Clavical
  • 22/10 - Youth - 3-1 Loss at Didcot in FA Youth Cup. Town held their own and impressed despite Didcot taking the lead after 29 minutes. Town kept the pressure up and were rewarded with a 44th minute goal from Seun Soetan. In the second half a short period of self doubt let Didcot score twice in 6 minutes and it was a battle to get back on terms with Didcot. Great first half performance, good second half and great travelling support - thanks to all who came down to Didcot!
  • 8/10 - Youth FA Youth Cup Sponsored by EoN. Buckingham Town travelled to Windsor and Eton to play their 2nd Qualifying Round fixture and secured a 6-0 win.
Patrick Diamond opened the scoring on 4 minutes with a stunning strike from 25 yards. 4 minutes later Nick Bines teed up a free kick from a similar range and rifled into the net. It was still 2-0 at the break but Town seemed to be comfortably on top but with no room for complacency.
Windsor and Eton came back at Town in the second half but quick passing and movement soon led to Soetan's cross being volleyed in by Kyle Stimpson on the six yard line to go 3 up. Gianfranco Amoroso (captain) struck for the forth in the 56th min. A hand ball in front of goal led to the dismissal of W&E's centre back and Sean Soetan slotted away a penalty (71mins) and Joe Vincent put the game to bed with less than 5 minutes to go.
  • 30/9 - Youth - frustration over missed opportunities but fair play to visitors Bedford who never gave up and struck twice on the counter to wipe out the early advantage secured by Stimmo in 61st minute.
  • 23/9 - Youth - Disappointing performance but hung onto a 1-1 draw against a persistent Bugbrooke side. Inventive goal from Andy Simmonds (back heel inside 6 yard area) and couple of excellent save from Carl Knox were high points.
  • 18/9 - Youth - 1-2 Away win over Cogenhoe. Slightly short handed due to work and injuries Town managed to put in a solid first half performance with Stimpson's equaliser keeping honours even at the break. Four injuries in the game resulted in us playing out the last 25 with only 10 players. James Bishop audaciously snuck in to intercept an header back to the Cogenhoe keeper to take the lead. An outstanding defensive final quarter assured the 3 points.
  • 12/9 - Four Buckingham Town U18s called up for County FA Rep team. Sean Soetan, Jordan Simons retain their places and are joined by former county player James Bishop and keeper Carl Knox. Well done lads. We have a few more on the long list.
  • 4/9 - Youth - Tight game against Northampton Spencer but came out 3-2 winners. A bit of a variable performance but solid persistence and depth on the bench made half the difference and a stunning goalkeeping performance from Carl Knox (fine penalty save, and spectacular double save). Bish, Brent and Stimmo made the goalkeeping effrt worthwhile with a Pen, sublime lob and high paced run and strike respectively.
  • 26/8 - Youth win 8-3 Shootout at Ford Meadow!
Town were matched goal for goal in the first half as Kamal BaranBishop - already on fire in reserves! (Library Shot) (excellent debut) and James Bishop (2) helped Town keep one ahead until half time (3-3). In the second half (following a tactical discussion) Town came back and dominated the second half with five further goals (Bish got his 3rd & 4th, Mitchell Brent returning from injury 2, and Amoroso1). An excellent display of football for the fans. With players yet to return from holidays Town need to keep their heads for the trip to N'ton Spencer next week.
